Nourish: Cultivating a Self-Care Practice
During this three-part workshop series with Monica Carlson, we will delve into the practices of Ayurveda, Mindfulness and various forms of yoga to help you cultivate a simple self-care routine for the Fall season.
Ayurveda, known as the sister science of yoga, translates as the science or understanding of life. In this philosophy, seasonal shifts affect our internal state. In this series, you will learn to understand this shift according to Ayurveda and develop skills and tools to bring balance to body and mind.
Each session will integrate learning basic elements of Ayurveda as it applies to modern life, a yoga session including mindfulness and breathing practices, the use of essential oils and time for reflection. At the end of each session, you will take home a nourishing bath product to enhance your self-care routine.
Monica has been teaching yoga since 2002, completing over 1,000 hours of training in Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mindfulness and Ayurveda for Yoga and Bodywork. She believes yoga is a life long internal journey. She leads her classes and workshops with the intention that each student experiences inner awareness and with this innate wisdom the student becomes their own best guide.
