Yoga 101 for Beginners: 1-Day Intensive Workshop
Saturday, August 8 from 2-5pm
Limited to 12 students and led by Aspire Yoga Center owner, Heather Delia, this 3-hour workshop for complete beginners will include:
* Basic history of yoga
* Overview of the various styles of yoga
* Yoga studio etiquette
* Uses for various props
* Discussions on Namasté and OM
* Breath work
* Step-back Sun Salutations
* Standing and seated poses with an eye on proper alignment and modifications for each pose for all levels
* Relaxation and meditation
* Answers to any questions you have about yoga!

Yoga Nidra Meditation
Thursday, August 13 and Thursday, August 20 from 6:45-7:45pm
Quiet the mind and surf between wakefulness and a sleep-like state during one of these sublime 60-minute guided Yoga Nidra classes. While lying on your back in Savanasa (corpse pose), you’ll remain awake and conscious while slowly descending into deep relaxation as Joy guides you through various breathing techniques, body part focuses and visualizations.

Ongoing research continues to show that Yoga Nidra (a.k.a. Sleep Yoga or Yogic Sleep) provides full relaxation of the nervous system; builds a healthy and strong mind; improves learning and concentration; restores emotional balance; and can contribute to relief from insomnia, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression and everyday stress. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED to experience benefits from this ancient practice!
